You can ask us to delete your AxcessAfrica account and personal data at any time. This page explains how to make the request, what we delete, what we are legally required to keep, and how long it takes. It works together with our Privacy Policy.
Email us from the address on your AxcessAfrica account, with the word DELETE and your account email or phone number, so we can verify the request:
Request account deletionIf you are signed in, you can also start a request from your account settings.
When your request is verified and processed, we delete or irreversibly anonymize:
Because one-to-one and group chats are end-to-end encrypted, their contents are already unreadable to us; deleting your account removes the encrypted data we hold for you.
Some records cannot be deleted immediately because the law requires us to keep them. The main example is financial and compliance data tied to the wallet: to meet anti-money-laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) obligations, we retain transaction and audit records for the minimum period required by law in the countries where we operate — commonly five to seven years after a transaction. During that period these records are kept only for legal and regulatory purposes and are deleted or anonymized once the required period ends. Content another user has lawfully kept — for example a message you sent that is stored in the recipient's account — is governed by that user's own account.
We aim to verify and action deletion requests within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity before proceeding, to protect your account against fraudulent deletion requests. We will confirm by email once your request has been completed.
Removing the AxcessAfrica app from your device does not by itself delete your account or the data we hold — use the request method above to delete your data.
If you have any questions about deleting your data, contact us at [DELETION CONTACT EMAIL].
